Barney Fisher-Turner was taught how to cook by the age of 13
by his mother who was a protege of the celebrated 1960s
cookery writer Robert Carrier. He studied History of Art and
Philosophy at University College London and worked for a
couple of years as an art dealer at a high-end London
sculpture dealership; he also worked for several years as a
strategist for Hart Sharp Entertainment, an award winning
Film Production Company based in New York; during this
period he worked on the Oscar winning film ‘Boy’s Don’t
cry’, the Oscar nominated ‘You can count on me’ as well as
many other major releases.
After moving to Turkey in 2004 he trained as a stylist with the specialist food & beverage photographer Ahmet Agaoglu; (www.ahmetagaoglu.com) he also developed his skills with the London based advertising photographer, Tim Hill (www.timhill.co.uk) He is equally comfortable styling both stills photography and television commercials and has worked with many notable photographers, Directors, film and video production companies as well as ad agencies in Istanbul and London.
Barney is well known for his flexibility and work rate when responding to any client's brief; effectively combining proficient technical ability, acute attention to detail and a creative approach to problem solving. His International clients include Mc Donalds, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Popeyes, Hellmans, Unilever, Tesco, Total, Bosch, Danette, Lactel, President, Fritolay, CP and Tefal; his Turkish clients include Garanti Bank, Ülker, Eti, Pinar, Banvit, Uno, Superfresh, Komili, Yeni Raki, Pizza Pizza, Kale, Pasabache, and Hare. His food writing and styling has been published in The Times, Time Out, Food & Travel, Forbes and Waitrose Food Illustrated.
Currently Barney is based in Istanbul and London; he is happy to travel to any location in Europe, The Americas and Asia.
